The other day I was talking to a friend of mine, and she shared with me how she felt like she was moving backwards in her life compared to her friends who were working for different companies unlike her, who has chosen a different path.

El otro día estaba hablando con una amiga que me contaba que se sentía como si estuviera retrocediendo en su vida en comparación con sus amigas de la carrera, que están siendo ascendidas en sus puestos de trabajo dentro de las empresas para las que trabajan; a diferencia de ella, que ha elegido un camino diferente.
